Shandong's AI Industry Focuses on 13 Sectors for Deep Expansion of Application Scenarios

Recently, the General Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government issued the Implementation Plan for Accelerating AI Empowerment in Key Fields to Achieve High-Quality Development and the Several Policies and Measures for Supporting the Innovative Development of the Whole AI Industry Chain.

According to the Implementation Plan, by 2027, Shandong will develop 20 foundational AI large models tailored to vertical industries, establish over 50 replicable benchmark application scenarios, launch more than 100 integrated demonstration cases, drive breakthrough advancements in the intelligent development of key industries and significant improvement of total factor productivity and intrinsic safety levels, and promote widespread adoption of AI applications, rapid expansion of new consumption models, and a substantial leap in residents' quality of life through enhanced convenience.

The Policies and Measures focus on fostering innovative development of the whole AI industry chain through policy, funding, and project support. Key measures include increasing investment in basic AI research, with over 150 basic research projects annually to advance cutting-edge theories such as multimodal intelligence, embodied intelligence, and swarm intelligence, aiming to form a batch of original achievements.
