Linyi, Shandong, Continues to Deepen Reform and Innovation in the Energy Sector

In recent years, Linyi City has fully implemented the new energy security strategy and continued to deepen reform and innovation in the energy sector, achieving remarkable results.

The reform of energy supply has been progressively advanced with significant efforts made to promote energy development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Linyi City's installed capacity and electricity generation from renewable energy sources have both doubled. Renewable energy now accounts for 60% of the total installed capacity, while the proportion of coal-fired power has decreased by 26.1%, demonstrating significant progress in transformation and upgrading.

The outcomes of innovation and reform in the energy sector have been remarkable. The integrated development of power generation, grid operation, load management, and energy storage has been implemented, with the "zero carbon" village in Shangxiaozhuang, Yishui County, and the "red village with green electricity", the new energy model in Zhucun Village, Linshu County, being recognized as exemplary cases at the provincial level. Moreover, the "Zero Carbon Action of Photovoltaic Storage and Application for Hundred Industrial Zones and Thousand Enterprises" initiative has led to the establishment of 398 green industrial zones and green enterprises. Additionally, Linyi City actively explores new types of power operators and has established a virtual power plant service center. The city's first virtual power plant, Shandong Taihua Electric Power, officially commenced operations on March 19.
