Shandong Supports Capacity Expansion and Quality Improvement of SCODA

The General Office of the People's Government of Shandong Province recently issued Several Measures on Supporting Capacity Expansion and Quality Improvement of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA). The document outlines 23 measures across four areas: advancing comprehensive reform, developing major platforms, fostering economic and trade industrial cooperation, and optimizing the development environment.

To support the development of major platform projects in the SCODA, we will facilitate major events under the SCO framework such as the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference, accelerate the construction of the SCO International Hub Port, and support Qingdao in building the Qingdao International Shipping Center. Efforts will also be made to enhance the level of the SCO economic and trade comprehensive service platform, build an economic and trade large model for the SCO industrial and supply chains, and apply for a dedicated cross-border data transmission pilot line.

To enhance local economic and trade industrial cooperation of the SCO, efforts will be made to support the SCODA to leverage the industrial advantages of member countries to boost manufacturing development. This includes establishing overseas operation centers and border cooperation parks to enhance collaborative innovation among SCO industrial and agricultural parks, and foster synergies with pilot free trade zones.
