Shandong Accelerates Development of Rural Industries for Prosperity

The People's Government of Shandong Province recently issued the Implementation Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development of Rural Industries for Prosperity. The document aims to increase farmers' income by taking the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in rural areas as the path, focusing on key industries, and actively building a rural industry system for prosperity with Shandong's characteristics.

In the development of rural characteristic industries, the document emphasizes the importance of focusing on six major advantage sectors: grains and oils, fruits, vegetables, livestock and poultry, aquaculture, and specialized farming. It advocates for the gathering of relevant resources to establish specialized villages and towns for characteristic industries. Additionally, it encourages the creation of tailored industrial patterns: "one county, one policy", "one town, one industry", and "one village, one product".

In terms of integrating agriculture, culture, and tourism, the document clearly states the need to actively develop business models such as rural sightseeing, agricultural experiences, science education, agritainment, health and wellness, and rural sports. It aims to launch a range of comprehensive experience projects focused on rural tourism, dining, shopping, and entertainment, while promoting distinctive, differentiated, and diverse boutique leisure agriculture routes.
