Shandong Supports the Film Industry with Targeted Policies

With the aim of becoming a "province of film power," Shandong has, in recent years, promoted the release of policies such as the List of Cultural Digitization Policies in Shandong Province and the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Radio, Television, and Audiovisual Industries to establish a comprehensive support system for the development of the film and television industry.

Shandong's support policies for the film and television industry stand out for their "strong backing and timely implementation." To advance key projects, an integrated support framework is applied at the province, city, and district (county) levels: At the provincial level, major projects included in national or central planning, or those connected to key timelines and themes highlighted by the provincial Party committee and government, may receive support of up to RMB 10 million per project. Films that gross over RMB 100 million and RMB 500 million will be eligible for subsidies of RMB 5 million and RMB 8 million, respectively. Outstanding works that win the "Five-One Project" award will receive rewards equal to three times the national prize amount, and other national awards will also be matched on a 1:1 basis.
