Shandong has focused on implementing the "five major projects" to boost consumption and fully invigorate the consumer market. The total retail sales of consumer goods in the province grew by 5.6%, marking a 0.6 percentage point increase compared to the previous year. In the first quarter, the trade-in program drove up consumption by more than 31 billion yuan. The provincial financial funds of 50 million yuan have been planned to support cities in issuing consumer coupons and vigorously promoting commodity consumption.
Shandong's foreign trade performance in the first quarter is highly impressive: the province's total import and export value reached 820.34 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 5.9%, an increase of 2.4 percentage points compared to the previous year.
While promoting the integration of domestic and international trade, the province has unified the standards for products sold both locally and abroad and elevated the quality and service standards. These efforts have enhanced the operational efficiency of the domestic market, strengthened enterprises' awareness of international competition, and boosted their brand competitiveness. As a result, this approach has better aligned with domestic consumer demands and fostered the formation of a vast domestic market.
