Shandong Starts Smart Factory Gradient Cultivation Action 2025

To systematically and extensively promote the tier-based cultivation of smart factories, Shandong will initiate applications this year for basic- and advanced-level smart factories and provincial exemplary smart manufacturing scenarios.

This smart factory gradient cultivation action aims to establish an integrated work system of smart factories, solutions, and standard systems and build an upgraded version of smart manufacturing. In accordance with the Implementation Plan for the Gradient Cultivation of Smart Factories issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China and five other departments, smart factories are classified into four tiers, including the basic level, the advanced level, the excellence level and the pioneer level. Qualified advanced-level smart factories can apply for the accreditation of excellence-level smart factories. Qualified excellence-level smart factories with the willingness are encouraged to actively apply for pioneer-level smart factories. Notably, these factories shall be recommended to the MIIT and other departments by local enterprises or central enterprises to which they belong, and the construction work shall be carried out under the guidance of the National Smart Manufacturing Expert Committee.
