More Than 7 Million kWh! Shandong's Zero-carbon Port Hits a Monthly High in Wind Power Generation

In March, Bohaiwan Port, a port group run by Shandong Port Group (SPG), reported a wind power generation capacity of more than 7 million kWh, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 3,850 tons of carbon emissions, setting a new monthly record. This achievement injects robust momentum into the region's efforts to secure the green energy supply and accomplish the carbon peaking and neutrality goals.

Moving forward, Bohaiwan Port plans to timely initiate the second phase of wind power and hydrogen energy projects and effectively advance the second phase of the photovoltaic project at the East Operation Area of the Weifang Port and the photovoltaic development project at the Shouguang Port Area. Meanwhile, Bohaiwan Port will also explore the application of hydrogen energy in scenarios such as heavy machinery and transport vehicles, establish a "green electricity plus green hydrogen" industrial chain, promote the integrated development of wind power, solar power, hydropower, and energy storage and contribute to the construction of a green and intelligent port.

So far, the total power generation of the distributed wind power project at the Weifang Port Area has reached 26.8 million kWh, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 19,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
