Shandong is a significant production area for ceramics and colored-glass products in China, placing great emphasis on the inheritance, innovation, and transformation of these industries. Recently, 14 departments including the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province jointly issued the Action Plan for the Inheritance, Innovation and High-quality Development of Ceramics and Colored-glass Industries in Shandong Province. Focusing on three main areas, namely advanced industrial ceramics, high-end consumer ceramics, and high-quality craft colored-glass, Shandong aims to cultivate a group of self-owned brands that are well-known both at home and abroad and enjoy core competitiveness. The goal is to increase the annual output value of the province's ceramics and colored-glass industries to approximately 40 billion yuan by 2027.
In the future, Shandong will take the following measures. First, enhance innovation in production processes and promote the large-scale production of advanced ceramics. Second, advance digital and intelligent empowerment, foster a deep integration of the digital economy with the ceramics and colored-glass industries, and actively pursue production line upgrades and technological transformations. Third, adhere to a cluster-oriented development approach, leverage the foundation and regional layout of the ceramics and colored-glass industries in Zibo, and expand the ceramics and colored-glass industrial agglomeration area in the city. Fourth, capitalize on the unique advantages of Linyi, Weifang, Dongying, and Binzhou to create a synergized development pattern.
