Shandong Province Adds "Humanoid Robots" Special Category and Opens Applications for the First Batch of Enterprise Technology Innovation Projects in 2025

Recently, Shandong Province has initiated applications for its first batch of enterprise technology innovation projects in 2025. The projects focus on breakthrough key core technologies in signature industrial chains including next-generation information technology, high-end equipment, artificial intelligence (AI), chemicals, advanced materials, modern medicine, food, light industry, textiles, and apparel. Notably, a new "Humanoid Robots" special category has been included this year.

Applying organizations must have independent R&D institutions and full-time R&D personnel. In principle, the R&D investment in each project should be at least RMB 4 million, and the project should demonstrate good expected benefits and promising market prospects. The expected new annual economic benefit of the completed project should be at least RMB 8 million. This year, Shandong's newly established "Humanoid Robots" special category aims to promote enterprise breakthroughs in key technologies such as humanoid robot perception and motion control, enhance regional economic vitality, and secure a leading position in future technology. Meanwhile, the province encourages "chain leader" enterprises to take the lead in conducting technological research in key fields and critical industrial chain segments.
