224 Shandong Enterprises Obtain 338 Carbon Footprint Certification Certificates

As of March 7, 2025, 224 enterprises in Shandong Province have obtained 338 carbon footprint certification certificates. The province has accumulated over 10,000 indirect carbon-related certification certificates, ranking third nationwide.

Carbon footprint certification not only helps enterprises identify carbon emission sources and optimize production processes but also provides consumers with transparent carbon emission information to guide green consumption. In late December 2024, Shandong was approved to undertake national pilot programs for carbon footprint labeling certification in electrolytic aluminum and tire products.

To advance carbon footprint certification, Shandong has issued a pilot plan for carbon footprint certification. The province has guided the establishment of a Carbon Footprint Certification Technical Committee and Certification Alliance, promoted research in direct carbon emission measurement technology and carbon footprint certification technology, and encouraged technically capable enterprises with standardized carbon emission management to participate in certification. These efforts will drive upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain to strengthen carbon footprint management.
