Kenli, Dongying: Driving High-Quality Development of the New Materials Industrial Chain

Kenli, located in the core area of Shengli Oilfield, is advancing the transformation of its chemical industry toward higher-end production, focusing on strengthening and complementing the optoelectronic new materials supply chain. Currently, Sichuan EM Technology alone has invested 3 billion yuan in Kenli, launching two projects—high-end polyester optical base film and special epoxy resin—expected to generate annual sales revenue of 8 billion yuan upon full production. 　　

Embracing innovation, Kenli District is leveraging new quality productive forces to cultivate new development advantages. Centered around the Shengtuo Chemical Industrial Park and the Kenli Economic Development Zone, the district is accelerating the development of a "3+3+N" new materials industrial system. This includes expanding three main chains, namely high-performance resin materials, optoelectronic materials, and boron-based materials; strengthening three secondary chains, namely advanced composite materials, special refractory materials, and functional membrane materials; and fostering multiple emerging chains such as AAS engineering plastics and biodegradable plastics. The new materials industry is being positioned as a key driver for replacing old growth engines with new ones, advancing industrial upgrading, and achieving high-quality development in manufacturing. By 2025, the scale of the new materials industry is projected to reach 10 billion yuan.
