Shandong Supports International Collaborative R&D

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province issued the Measures for the Administration of Key R&D Plan (Science and Technology Cooperation) Projects in Shandong Province to support higher education institutions, research institutions, and enterprises within the province in conducting substantive international collaborative R&D with overseas organizations or individuals on shared scientific research objectives.

This initiative focuses on several key areas: supporting major national diplomatic strategies and the socio-economic development of the province, and facilitating sci-tech collaborations with leading innovative countries such as those in Europe and North America, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, as well as the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and China's Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan; addressing critical technological bottlenecks that hinder the economic and scientific progress of the province and promoting core technological development; encouraging provincial industries with comparative advantages and international competitiveness to carry out international production capacity cooperation, thereby accelerating industrial transformation, upgrading, and advancement; supporting technological assistance and international technology transfer projects with Belt and Road countries, as well as proactive "going global" initiatives.
