Shandong: Green Ship Exports Account for Nearly 40%

According to the latest data, the shipbuilding industry of Shandong has received new orders of 11.87 million deadweight tons, demonstrating its competitive strength in the global shipbuilding field. Having recovered robustly, Shandong's shipbuilding industry also sends positive signals in green and low-carbon development and industrial promotion to meet the needs of high-end and green ship development.

Data from Qingdao Customs shows that in 2024, the export of large ships at Qingdao Port exceeded 8.6 billion yuan, an increase of 49% year on year, of which green ship exports accounted for nearly 40%. The shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment industrial chain is one of the 11 representative industrial chains of Shandong.

The Qingdao-Yantai-Weihai Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Equipment Industrial Cluster has won the honorable title of China's National Cluster of Advanced Manufacturing Industries. This cluster has gathered about 140 final assembly construction and supporting enterprises above the designated size, radiating and driving more than 600 upstream and downstream enterprises. Developing vigorously, this cluster has strengthened Shandong's competitive advantages in shipbuilding and added a strong impetus to the progress of China's shipbuilding industry.
