This year, Shandong will implement the "Provincial Support Program for Post-doctoral Innovative Talent" while continuing the model of "setting posts first and then attracting talent." At present, 810 new posts for post-doctoral innovative talent have been set, covering all existing doctoral stations in universities and 16 cities across Shandong. Regarding financial support, the units with stations provide an annual salary of at least 300,000 yuan, and the provincial government gives a comprehensive subsidy of at least 300,000 yuan on a merit basis. The scientific research funds provided by the units with stations are up to 3 million yuan, and the salaries reach up to 1.2 million yuan.
This year, Shandong will focus on scientific research innovation and establish a wide range of posts for post-doctoral innovative talent. Regarding disciplines and specialties, emerging industries, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, will be focused. Shandong will leverage its fundamental advantages in modern marine and agriculture sectors. As for the allocation of post-doctoral supervisors, high-end talent, including 38 academicians, 160 Changjiang scholars and distinguished young scholars, over 300 Taishan scholars, will serve as post-doctoral supervisors. All these efforts demonstrate that Shandong will concentrate superior human resources to support the innovative development of post-doctors.
