Selection for New Provincial Clusters of Advanced Manufacturing Industries in Shandong

Recently, the identification of clusters of advanced manufacturing industries for 2025 in Shandong Province officially commenced. Focusing on the competition for national clusters of advanced manufacturing industries and Shandong's "6997" modern industrial system, Shandong will select a new batch of provincial clusters of advanced manufacturing industries through open competition. It aims to optimize the regional and industrial layout of clusters and establish a high-level tiered development framework for clusters of advanced manufacturing industries.

The Detailed Rules for the Management and Implementation of Reward Funds for Clusters of Advanced Manufacturing Industries in Shandong Province specified that world-class, national-level, and provincial-level clusters of advanced manufacturing industries will receive tiered rewards to support the development of a tiered cultivation system. In 2024, three clusters in Shandong were selected as national clusters of advanced manufacturing industries, including the ship and marine engineering equipment cluster in Qingdao, Yantai, and Weifang; the instrument cluster in Qingdao; and the intelligent agricultural machinery equipment cluster in Weifang and Linyi. This has brought the total number to six, marking a step forward in competitiveness cultivation. Additionally, 10 new provincial clusters of advanced manufacturing industries were identified, increasing the total number to 20.
