Shandong Holds 2025 National Provincial Water Network Pilot Area 100-billion Project Promotion Conference to Seek High-quality Development of Water Conservancy among Governments, Banks and Enterprises

This year, Shandong is poised to complete its three-year provincial water network pilot area construction. Aiming at the overall goal of "safeguarding water security, protecting aquatic ecosystems, developing water-based economy, and improving water-related livelihoods," Shandong is strategically focusing on network interconnection, network supplementation, and chain reinforcement to exemplify national water network development.

Water infrastructure development critically depends on substantial investment support. At the recent 2025 National Provincial Water Network Pilot Area Construction Project Promotion Conference in Jinan, 100 projects spanning flood control enhancement, water supply security, and ecological protection were showcased, representing a total investment of 130.3 billion yuan, with 40 projects formally signed for 38 billion yuan.

As a pioneering national water network pilot area in the first batch and the Yellow River Basin, Shandong has strategically developed water infrastructure following the blueprint of "one axis, three rings, seven vertical lines, nine horizontal lines, two lakes, and multiple reservoirs." Shandong's provincial water network now extends over 7,100 kilometers, achieving an impressive 86% coverage.
