Shandong Announces 12 Key Points for Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Industry Empowered by Industrial Internet in 2025

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province recently issued a notice regarding the key points for the digital transformation in the manufacturing industry empowered by the industrial Internet in the province in 2025. Guided by the vision of accelerating the all-round and full-chain popularization and application of the new generation of information technology in the manufacturing industry, and focusing on promoting the large-scale application of industrial Internet, Shandong will continue to deepen the implementation of the "Industrial Internet Empowers Shandong" initiative and the action to elevate the digital transformation of manufacturing in the province.

According to the notice, the main expected goal for the digital transformation in the manufacturing industry empowered by the industrial Internet in Shandong in 2025 is as follows: Approximately 94% of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province will achieve digital transformation, an increase of 2-3 percentage points compared to last year; the functional system of the industrial Internet will be comprehensively strengthened; approximately 50 provincial-level key platforms will be nurtured, and more than 50 open competition projects for a new round of digital transformation in manufacturing will be selected and implemented; in addition, a number of benchmark enterprises, demonstrating industries, and exemplary regions will be developed to help maintain a leading position nationwide in terms of the integration of information technology and industrialization.
