With an Investment Exceeding 2.5 Billion Yuan, Shandong Province Achieves Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement Across 14 Agricultural Whole Industry Chains

Shandong is a major agricultural province with abundant agricultural products, excellent quality and good reputation. The province has established a catalog of local characteristic industries, compiled plans for 26 characteristic industries such as Zaozhuang pomegranate, Yellow River old course Phellinus Igniarius and Rushan oyster, and built 8 national-level advantageous characteristic industrial clusters such as Shouguang vegetables and beef cattle along the Yellow River. An efficient and characteristic agricultural development platform has been built, with at least 200 million yuan allocated every year to support more than 40 industrial projects; 111 national-level strong towns in the agricultural industry have been created, and 6,563 professional villages and towns and famous product villages have been constructed in the province.

At present, there are 14 pilot projects for improving the quality and efficiency of the whole industrial chain in the province, supporting more than 140 agriculture-related business entities of various types, leveraging social and financial investment of more than 2.5 billion yuan, with an estimated annual output value increase of over 10 billion yuan. The province strives to build a number of advantageous characteristic agricultural industrial chains with an annual output value of more than 5 billion yuan (mainly planting industry) and 10 billion yuan (mainly livestock, poultry and fishery), complete industrial chains, obvious driving effect, remarkable brand effects and a mechanism of uniting farmers and helping them develop after 3 years of efforts.
