Weihai: Foreign Trade Policies Help Enterprises Go Global Faster

Recently, the Policy List for Promoting High-Quality Development of Foreign Trade in Weihai City was issued. Weihai's business department focuses on diversifying the international market, cultivating new driving forces for foreign trade, and promoting innovative development of cross-border e-commerce, among other four areas, and has outlined 35 policy measures to support enterprises, helping import and export enterprises go global faster.

Since 2024, Weihai has been deeply implementing its international market development plan, consolidating traditional markets such as Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States, while comprehensively expanding into emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. By the end of 2024, over 620 enterprises in the city have engaged in trade with more than 50 countries and regions in Africa, establishing 66 enterprises (or institutions) in Africa, with a total agreed investment of USD 640 million.

This year, Weihai will align its efforts with the "Good Products from Weihai Connect the World" 2025 international market development plan to encourage foreign trade enterprises to carry out and participate in specialized precise procurement matching activities and business-series brand promotion actions. At the same time, Weihai will also support foreign trade enterprises in participating in overseas economic and trade negotiation activities organized by provincial and municipal business authorities to broaden international markets and achieve higher-quality development.
