Qingdao, Shandong Province Issues Several Policies and Measures to Accelerate High-quality Development of the Advanced Manufacturing Industry

A new round of Policies and Measures to Accelerate High-quality Development of the Advanced Manufacturing Industry in Qingdao was officially issued. Of the 25 policies, 6 focus on cultivating and developing new growth drivers, and 5 on strengthening the support for industrial innovation. The policies indicate that Qingdao will accelerate the cultivation of new growth drivers around intelligent connected new energy vehicles, inclusive computing power services, open-source ecosystem construction, 5G network upgrade and application, and trusted industrial data space construction.

Specifically, the policies aim to promote the electrification, intelligence, and networking of the automotive industry by supporting vehicle manufacturers in transitioning to new energy vehicles and introducing more varieties and new models. Enterprises will be encouraged to purchase computing power services through computing power vouchers, with subsidies up to 1 million yuan based on no more than 20% of actual paid fees. Additionally, efforts will be made to promote the in-depth coverage of 5G network in industrial enterprises and zones and facilitate the integrated application of industrial data in the whole process of the manufacturing industry such as R&D design, production and manufacturing, and operational management.
