Shandong: 100 Million Yuan Subsidy for Each Pilot Project of Advantageous Characteristic Animal Husbandry Industrial Chain

Shandong is a major province for animal husbandry, boasting a large industry scale and a great number of enterprises. Recently, the Information Office of the People's Government of Shandong Province held a series of on-site press conferences themed "Beneficial Policies for Enterprises and People" to interpret financial support policies for the animal husbandry sector.

Since the beginning of 2024, a total of 1.936 billion yuan of fiscal funds from provincial and higher levels have been invested, marking a 4.13% increase over the previous year. Within this amount, 896 million yuan has been allocated for animal husbandry production, supporting the enhancement of modern livestock breeding, the expansion of beef cattle herds, and the conversion of the cultivation of food grains, particularly corn, into the planting of feed grains. A total of 838 million yuan has been allocated for animal disease prevention, focusing on improving animal protection capabilities and controlling major animal epidemic diseases.

To accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the entire animal husbandry industry chain in the province, Shandong has selected five products for the first batch of pilot projects for quality and efficiency improvement in the whole industrial chain of advantageous characteristic industries this year, namely beef cattle in Zibo, meat ducks in Tai'an, pigs in Linyi, donkeys in Liaocheng, and meat goats in Heze. Each industry chain will receive support in accordance with a standard of 100 million yuan, alongside comprehensive financial support. The province will also guide banks and other financial institutions to customize credit products, strengthen the weak links in the industry chain, and bolster its strengths. The goal is to develop a number of advantageous characteristic animal husbandry industry chains with an annual output value exceeding 10 billion yuan within three years.
