Shandong's Light Industries Grow Faster Than National Average by Industrial Added Value from January to October

The light industrial chain special promotion meeting in Shandong Province was recently held in Jinan City. Currently, the province's light industries have been optimizing in terms of scale, industrial chain, and industrial structure, with steady improvements in development quality and efficiency and a significant enhancement in overall strength. From January to October this year, the growth rate of the industrial added value of such industries as agricultural and sideline food processing, food manufacturing, papermaking and paper products, and furniture manufacturing has all exceeded the national average level.

To accelerate the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces in light industries, the province will establish a sci-tech innovation system that is market-oriented, enterprise-led, and integrates production, education, research, and application. Meanwhile, the province plans to develop a batch of high-quality projects with strong comprehensive benefits and industrial driving forces, focus on cultivating enterprises serving as the industrial chain chief and strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, and guide enterprises to branch out into links with high added value. This will help build a pipeline of high-quality enterprises in light industries and promote further upgrading of industrial clusters in food, papermaking, smart home appliances, furniture, and other industries.
