SCODA Operates 964 Inbound and Outbound CRE Trains So Far, Transporting 79,000 TEUs, Hitting a New High

To build an international logistics center, the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) has been expanding the reach and service quality of the China Railway Express (CRE), attracting more international goods to assemble and transfer here. At present, SCODA operates 22 international train routes on a regular basis, reaching 54 cities in 23 countries, including the SCO countries and Belt and Road partner countries.

As trade between SCODA and Central Asia diversifies, Central Asia-bound trains have emerged as a new growth driver for Shandong's CRE development. From January to November this year, SCODA saw 426 outbound trains to Central Asia, marking a year-on-year increase of 48.4% and 93 inbound trains from the region, representing an impressive year-on-year increase of 365%.

According to statistics from Qingdao Customs District, since the SCODA was put into service, it has operated a total of 4,213 outbound and inbound CRE trains, transporting 345,000 TEUs and over 2.91 million tons of import and export goods.
