11 Shandong Cities Land on the New List of Top 100 Cities in Digital Economy in 2024

Recently, the Research Report on the Development of Digital Economy in Chinese Cities 2024 was officially released, together with the list of the top 100 cities in the digital economy in 2024. Notably, 11 cities in Shandong land on the list, namely Qingdao, Jinan, Yantai, Weifang, Linyi, Jining, Zibo, Dezhou, Weihai, Tai'an, and Binzhou.

In recent years, Shandong has vigorously implemented ten major projects for digital industrialization and eight major actions for industrial digitization to unleash the synergy between the real economy and the digital economy at a faster pace as the two continue to integrate. Digital industrialization has significantly advanced. In the first half of 2024, the province's information technology industry generated 980.92 billion yuan in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%. Industrial digitization has improved in both quantity and capacity. In the same period, 7,879 technological transformation projects with investments exceeding 5 million yuan were implemented in the province, currently attracting over 500 service providers and offering transformation services to more than 6,000 enterprises.

The research report comprehensively assesses digital industrialization, industrial digitalization, development vitality of the digital economy, and data valuation in 337 cities in China for 2024, and establishes a scientific evaluation system.
