Qingdao Steps up Efforts in the Development of a Rail Transit Equipment Industrial Cluster

This year, the hydrogen-powered intelligent intercity train developed by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. (CRRC Sifang) was officially launched; the carbon fiber subway train for commercial operation made its debut in Qingdao; the annual production capacity of trains in Qingdao exceeded 1,600, with 55% of the country's high-speed trains and 20% of the country's subway trains produced in the city...

At the Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone, rail transit enterprises represented by CRRC Sifang have played the leading role. At the same time, over 200 supporting enterprises have been gathered. Currently, the demonstration zone has developed the ability to produce a range of high-end products, including high-speed trains and intercity trains. These products encompass various systems such as control, traction, braking, and damping, forming a relatively complete industrial cluster for high-speed trains and rail transit equipment.

In addition, relying on the National Innovation Center of High Speed Train, the demonstration zone has worked to give full play to the leading role of CRRC Sifang and other enterprises in sci-tech innovation. Thanks to these efforts, it has made breakthroughs in several core technologies in key fields for trains and achieved domestic supply, independently developed the second-generation nickel-hydrogen battery products, and released a series of independent innovations, including new intelligent intercity trains.
