Shandong, Home to 18,072 "Specialized, Fined, Peculiar and New" SMEs and Over 1,000 "Little Giant" Enterprises, Ranks Among the Top in China

From 2024 to 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will support three batches of "little giant" enterprises in the form of comprehensive financial awards and subsidies by focusing on key industrial chains, six basic industrial conditions, strategic emerging industries and future industries.

Original innovation is the essence of the development of "specialized, fined, peculiar and new" small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The data reveals that among the "specialized, fined, peculiar and new" SMEs with total operating revenue exceeding 100 million yuan in Shandong, 95% of them allocate no less than 3% of their operating revenue to research and development expenses. Additionally, 42% of them possess two or more Class I intellectual property rights associated with their flagship products, while 81 enterprises have been honored with national science and technology awards within the past three years.

Moving forward, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province will organize meetings with SMEs with good benefits, great potential and strong confidence in each city, so as to dynamically understand the true production and operation situation of these enterprises. Adhering to the approaches of "establishing a ledger through comprehensive investigation", "precise profiling and labeling", and "implementing one policy for one enterprise to achieve progress", Shandong will further expand the cultivation base of "specialized, fined, peculiar and new" SMEs.
