Recently, the "Lu G" truck, bearing the "TIR" banner, slowly drove out of a logistics enterprise in Weifang. It is reported that the vehicle is fully loaded with electronic devices and is expected to arrive in Moscow, the capital of Russia, in seven days. Compared with traditional road transport, this mode saves half the time and is only one-fourth of the railway transport duration.
TIR stands for "Transports Internationaux Routiers" or "International Road Transports". It was established by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in 1949 as a globally adopted international customs transit and guarantee system. The facilitation of international transport and trade has been promoted by simplifying customs clearance procedures and enhancing customs clearance efficiency.
Up to now, cities such as Jinan, Qingdao, Weifang, Linyi, and Weihai have successfully implemented TIR. The rapid development of TIR in cities across Shandong Province has not only improved the efficiency of cross-border logistics but also provided more international trade opportunities for enterprises.
In the future, TIR will play a more significant role in promoting regional economic integration and facilitating global trade. Shandong is gradually developing an efficient and convenient international logistics network.
