In the past two years, the number of low-altitude economy-related enterprises has increased rapidly. Up to now, there are more than 69,000 enterprises related to the low-altitude economy in China. From the perspective of geographical distribution, Guangdong, Shandong and Jiangxi rank among the top in terms of the number of low-altitude economy-related enterprises, accounting for nearly 30% of the country's total.
It is reported that Shandong has 417 enterprises engaged in the R&D and manufacturing of general aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), engines, components and aerospace materials, with a low-altitude economic scale of 30.3 billion yuan. The Three-year Action Plan for High-quality Development of Low-altitude Economy in Shandong Province (2025-2027) was issued recently, proposing that by 2027, a new low-altitude economy development pattern led by Jinan and Qingdao and supported by Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Rizhao, Linyi, Binzhou and other cities shall take shape.
Industry insiders said that from a national perspective, Shandong's low-altitude economy is still in the stage of imitation and cultivation, with insufficient emerging business formats. In the next step, Shandong should take R&D and manufacturing as the core to improve the whole industrial chain of complete aircraft and UAV manufacturing, key system research and development, key components production, new material supply, and so on. Efforts should also be made to accelerate the development of emerging industrial clusters and strive to establish a national low-altitude economy demonstration area.
