Since the start of this year, Shandong's artificial intelligence industry has been rapidly developing, with substantial growth in core sectors such as algorithms, computing power, and key data elements. By the end of the first three quarters, Shandong had fostered 35 national-level intelligent factories, leading the country, alongside 241 provincial-level intelligent factories. The province has advanced its exploration of the new model "industrial brain + morning star factory", fostering 64 AI-enhanced, data-driven "industrial brains" of key sectors and 4,220 "morning star factories".
Regarding storage capacity, the province's storage has surpassed 45 EB (exabytes). A total of 166 data centers have achieved the provincial new data center standard of 3A or above, with over 350,000 standard racks in use. In terms of transmission capacity, the data center network's total exit bandwidth has reached 189,000 Gbps (gigabits per second). With two national-level Internet backbone direct connection points in Jinan and Qingdao, it is the only "dual-hub" province in China.
In the context of the big data industry, Shandong has been approved to undertake 5 national pilot projects, including the national industrial product master data standard pilot, the industrial data security management pilot, and the data security risk assessment pilot. A total of 24 big data projects have been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as big data industry pilot demonstration projects, ranking second in the nation.
