Shandong-South Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference Held

On August 20, the Shandong-South Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference kicked off in Jinan. The event was attended by Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, and Jeong In-kyo, Head of Trade Negotiations Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, ROK (also known as South Korea).

Zhou Naixiang said in his speech that in recent years, Shandong and the ROK have continued to strengthen economic and trade exchanges and achieved fruitful results. Shandong is willing to work with the ROK to continuously improve the level of cooperation in digital trade and green trade, further stimulate new potential for collaboration in fields such as green and low-carbon development, new generation of information technology and the modern marine sector, and jointly implement a number of landmark projects. Shandong will continue to foster a market-oriented, law-based and international first-class business environment while providing a variety of enterprises with high-quality and efficient services.

Jeong In-kyo spoke highly of the achievements made in exchanges and cooperation between Shandong and the ROK in various fields. He hoped that the two sides would continue to deepen pragmatic negotiations to give full play to the role of platform carriers such as the Weihai China-ROK Free Trade Zone Local Economic Cooperation Demonstration Area and the Sino-Korea (Yantai) Industrial Park. Additionally, joint efforts should be made to further strengthen cooperation in supply chains, green and low-carbon development, medical care, biology, and other fields, thus achieving win-win results.
