The Energy Administration of Shandong Province recently issued a notice on the Key Points of Energy Transition in Shandong Province in 2024. The notice emphasizes that the province will make concerted efforts to build a demonstration area for green and low-carbon energy transformation of energy. Throughout the year, Shandong aims to add approximately 15 million kilowatts of new energy and renewable energy installations, maintain coal and crude oil production at around 85 million tons and 21 million tons respectively, and achieve an investment of around 200 billion yuan in the energy sector.

Shandong will build nuclear power plants at a faster pace. While absolutely ensuring work safety, it will speed up the development of nuclear power plant sites in cities such as Haiyang, Rongcheng and Zhaoyuan, and advance the progress of projects such as the second phase of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant and the "Guohe No. 1" Project.

Shandong will also accelerate the development of wind power at a larger scale. It will actively carry out preparatory work for projects in sea areas under national jurisdiction, aiming to install approximately 1.5 million kilowatts of offshore wind power turbines with a total capacity of over 6 million kilowatts.

Additionally, Shandong will improve the quality and effectiveness of photovoltaic development. It will accelerate the construction of projects listed in the third batch of national large photovoltaic bases. It will take active steps to promote preparatory work for the Lubei PV Base Project and commence qualified projects as soon as possible.

Shandong will pursue diverse development of new energy storage. It will promote the application of various technologies for new energy storage in different scenarios. In addition, it will make steady progress in the construction of electrochemical energy storage facilities, striving to complete projects such as CNNC's Project in Hanting District, BJ Energy Intl's Project in Rongcheng, and the Blue Ocean Energy Storage Project in Laizhou.
