On January 26, the second press conference of the second session of the 14th Shandong Provincial People's Congress was held. Zhang Haibo, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, introduced the work arrangement for the sound development of Shandong Province's industrial economy.

Zhang Haibo stated that in 2023, the added value of industries above the designated size in Shandong Province increased by 7.1%, which was 2.5 percentage points higher than the national average. Shandong Province continues to lead as a prominent industrial province. From a qualitative point of view, the output value of the high-tech industry has surpassed 50%, and both the industrial digitization and manufacturing digitization transformation indices are among the top in China. This year, Shandong will continue to regard the industrial economy as a top priority and aim at high-end, intelligent, green, and concentrated growth. Moreover, Shandong will focus on the development of itself into a province with strong strength in advanced manufacturing and consolidate the "four pillars" of the top priority.

This year, it has developed the initial planning for ten major actions to drive overall improvement through key breakthroughs. It tries to upgrade the industrial technological transformation while focusing on six traditional industries. It will accelerate the cultivation of emerging industries such as the new generation of information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, and new energy vehicles, as well as future industries such as the metaverse, artificial intelligence, and humanoid robots.
