Shandong Develops New Productive Forces and Unleashes the Vitality of Industrial Clusters

The 2024 Government Work Report of Shandong shows that Shandong will focus on high-end, intelligent, green, and concentrated growth and cultivate about 10 provincial-level emerging industrial clusters around the new generation of information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy & materials, and other fields. Besides, it will promote the accelerated growth of 15 provincial-level future industrial clusters.

Up to now, Shandong has cultivated 100 provincial-level characteristic industrial clusters, covering the majority of counties in the province. Moreover, it has fostered 15 national-level characteristic industrial clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises, ranking first in China for two consecutive years in terms of the total number. Characteristic industrial clusters not only support and guarantee the development of small and medium-sized enterprises but also facilitate the improvement of Shandong's regional core competitiveness and the development of Shandong into a province with strong strength in industrial manufacturing.

To promote industrial structure optimization and upgrading and achieve higher-quality and more sustainable development, new industrialization is an inevitable choice when certain progress has been made in economic development. It is necessary to promote the new industrialization of industrial clusters, integrate the vitality of new productive forces into traditional industrial clusters, and create new economic growth drivers.
