Shandong’s High-End Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Chain Ranks First in Multiple Aspects Nationwide

Focusing on enhancing its strength in manufacturing, Shandong has vigorously developed the equipment manufacturing industry and continued to build competitive landmark industrial chains and clusters of advanced manufacturing industries. This strategic approach has resulted in the industry securing several top-ranking positions nationwide.

Between January and November 2023, the production of new energy vehicles in Shandong reached 383,000 units, with expectations to surpass 400,000 units by the end of 2023. Shandong currently boasts a total of 93,500 enterprises in the new energy vehicle industry, ranking first in the country due to the highest number. The industry is thriving with growing chains and clusters and Shandong has set a goal to produce approximately one million new energy vehicles by 2025.

During the first half of 2023, Shandong's machine tool exports reached 6.84 billion yuan, up 17.3% year-on-year. These exports accounted for 19.6% of the total exports of similar products in China. A sound industrial chain has been developed in the machine tool industry in Shandong.

Currently, Shandong ranks first in China in terms of the number of environmental protection enterprises, with the operating revenue ranking among the top nationwide. It is home to 281 national-level green factories, 307 provincial-level green factories, 52 enterprises adhering to national environmental equipment manufacturing standards, and 104 enterprises conforming to national regulations for the comprehensive utilization of renewable resources.
