"Remarkable Shandong·Trade Global" Cargo Vessels Start 2024 First Voyage

On January 1, Vessel "Unayzah Express" successfully arrived at Berth 105 of Qingdao Port Qianwan Area Container Automation Wharf. A launching ceremony for the 2024 maiden voyage of cargo vessels of "Remarkable Shandong·Trade Global" was conducted at the wharf.

In Qingdao, "Unayzah Express" is scheduled to handle the loading and unloading of 3,500 TEUs. The cargo consists of a wide range of industrial and agricultural products, both light and heavy, including electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and solar cells. The total value of these goods is approximately 200 million yuan.

Shi Tiantao, the manager of Qingdao Port International Logistics Co., Ltd.'s shipping center, reveals that Hapag-Lloyad and HMM, the fifth and eighth largest shipping company globally, jointly operate this route. The plan is to utilize 12 container ships with a capacity of 13,000-15,000 containers. The journey will commence from Qingdao Port in Shandong Province and pass through Ningbo Port and Busan Port in South Korea before reaching the United States' Savannah Port, Charleston Port, and Wilmington Port.

It is understood that this route has accelerated the trade between China and the eastern United States. Considering the high demand for Chinese manufacturing in North America, the operators of this route will continue to augment the number of ships based on the operational situation.
