Shandong’s Software Business Revenue Reaches RMB 942.5 Billion in the First Three Quarters

Recently, the 2023 Software Innovation and Development Conference was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. Several cooperation agreements were reached at the conference. For example, the Jinan Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center. The Jinan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the National Center of Technology Innovation for Intelligent Design and Numerical Control, the Jinan High-tech Zone Management Committee and more than 10 industry representative enterprises signed intended contracts on the establishment of the Jinan Industrial Software Research Institute.

Shandong attaches great importance to the development of the software industry. In the first three quarters of this year, its software business revenue reached RMB 942.52 billion, ranking fourth in China, with a year-on-year growth of 16.6% and 3.1 percentage points higher than the national average.

As one of the first batch of famous software cities in China, Jinan has ranked first in Shandong in terms of 10 key indicators such as innovation platforms, qualifications, key enterprises, and excellent products for 20 consecutive years. From January to October this year, Jinan's software business revenue reached RMB 426.3 billion, up 14.7% year on year, ranking seventh of the total scale across the country. Additionally, the added value of its software and information technology services accounted for over 7% of the city's GDP.
