Shandong Adds 12 National Industrial Design Centers

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently announced the sixth batch of national industrial design centers in China, including 12 from Shandong province. Companies such as Lingong Heavy Machinery, Tianrui Heavy Industry, and Guangwei Composites are among the additions. Shandong has now taken the lead in China in terms of the quantity of national industrial design centers.

In recent years, Shandong, a major manufacturing province in China, has recognized the significance of industrial design in boosting the value of products, improving enterprise competitiveness, enhancing the overall industrial and value chains, and promoting high-quality development in the manufacturing industry. In this regard, Shandong has released various policies, including the Guiding Opinions on Advancing the Development of the Industrial Design Industry in Shandong Province, the 14th Five-Year Plan for Industrial Design in Shandong Province, and the Administrative Measures for Recognizing Provincial Industrial Design Centers in Shandong Province. These measures underscore the importance of cultivating, identifying, managing, and supporting industrial design centers, as well as fostering a strong industrial design mindset to contribute to the high-quality development of Shandong's manufacturing industry.
