Shandong Develops New Business Forms for the UAV Industry

Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province solicited public opinions on the Implementation Plan for High-quality Development of UAV Industry in Shandong Province (2023-2025). It is planned that by 2025, the output value of the whole UAV industry in the province will exceed 10 billion yuan and about 10 leading enterprises with an output value of more than 100 million yuan and about 100 high-quality enterprises such as "innovation-driven SMEs", "high-tech SMEs" and "specialized, fined, peculiar and new enterprises" will be cultivated.

To seize the development opportunities in the UAV industry, Shandong will promote product iteration and upgrading, expand the application fields, and optimize the industrial ecology. To this end, Shandong will make a concentrated effort to implement seven major actions, i.e. improving innovation capability, building a pool of high-quality enterprises, expanding application scenarios, developing industrial clusters, cultivating the low-altitude economy, strengthening cooperation space, and creating a standard testing system.

Meanwhile, Shandong will establish a perfect tiered cultivation system for high-quality SMEs and take into account the characteristics of the city's UAV production and application market to ensure that these enterprises can realize coordinated development with those leading ones with an obvious advantage in the market share and technology nationwide in a staggered manner. Shandong will also guide and support enterprises to adopt differentiated product development strategies and create a number of advantageous enterprises in subdivided fields such as agriculture, forestry, plant protection, and aviation logistics.
