Shandong Accelerates the Development of an Industrial Cluster for Cosmetics

Last year, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and the Shandong Provincial Medical Products Administration issued the Implementation Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development of the Cosmetics Industry in Shandong Province. As per the document, Shandong proposed to build a cluster of high-quality development of the cosmetics industry, an international ecosystem of high-quality raw materials for cosmetics, and a cosmetic sci-tech innovation center.

"The World Hyaluronic Acid Valley Industrial Demonstration Zone has been officially opened, and the plaque of the CAS International Alliance for Medical Science Transformation has been unveiled here. As a production center of hyaluronic acid, the Life Science City will focus on functional food, functional cosmetics, drugs, instruments and apparatus for aesthetic medicine, and other fields, introduce upstream and downstream industry chain and supply chain projects, and create a good environment for achievement transformation that brings together enterprises, universities, research institutes and end-users," said Zhu Shenle, Director of the Life Science City Development Centre in Jinan High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Now, many places in China are relying on their geographical characteristics and industrial foundations to plan the development of the emerging cosmetics industry. Shandong is one of them.  Relying on its solid foundation in biomedicine and massive health industries, such leading enterprises as Bloomage Biotech and FREDA have driven the constant development of the cosmetics industry in the province.
