Shandong: A Full Coverage of Industrial Internet Platforms in Iconic and Key Industrial Chains within Three Years

Seven departments including the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, the Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province, and the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance recently issued the “Action Plan for the Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Industry in Shandong Province (2023-2025)”. This plan focuses on the digital transformation needs of key industries and iconic industrial chains in the manufacturing industry. Shandong will implement three special actions including optimizing the transformation path, strengthening infrastructure, and deepening service supply.

Under the special action of deepening service supply, Shandong will address the needs of key sectors such as integrated circuits, smart home appliances, high-end equipment manufacturing, and new energy. Each year, Shandong will develop more than 20 first-edition high-end software at the provincial level. Shandong will improve the national-level, provincial-level, and edge-level industrial internet big data center systems. By 2025, the province aims to develop around 50 provincial-level industrial centers and approximately 300 edge-level centers. Shandong will deploy more than 20 major sci-tech research tasks each year and establish a number of provincial key laboratories, technology innovation centers, and new R&D institutions as platform carriers in the field of digital transformation of the manufacturing industry.
