Shandong Issues Several Policies and Measures on Further Boosting and Expanding Consumption

On August 15, Shandong issued Several Policies and Measures on Further Boosting and Expanding Consumption, which includes 40 specific measures in four major aspects to promote the continuous recovery of the province's economy.

In terms of strengthening support for bulk consumption, Shandong will continue to implement the reduction and exemption policy on new energy vehicle purchase tax and support cities to cooperate with automobile manufacturers and dealers to offer automobile renewal subsidies. In terms of cultivating new consumption growth points, Shandong will follow the "Generation Z" consumption trend, promote the application of digital technologies such as holographic projection, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, support enterprises, universities, and social organizations to build experience centers for public virtual reality application, and promote the demonstration and promotion of virtual reality technology in key industries. Meanwhile, Shandong will speed up the construction of information infrastructure and improve the coverage capacity of 5G networks. Within this year, 16 cities in the province will meet the construction standard of "gigabit city", more than 200,000 5G base stations will be opened in the province, and more than 70% of the administrative villages in the province will enjoy access to 5G networks.
