SDPFTZ Qingdao Area Implements Strategy of Innovation-driven Development and Accelerates High-quality Development of Manufacturing Industry

In recent years, China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area has implemented the strategy of innovation-driven development in depth. Centering on improving the capacity of regional technological innovation, it has accelerated the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in new technologies, new processes, new materials, and new equipment (Four New), promoted industrial agglomeration through technological innovation, built a leading area for innovation through talent gathering, and accelerated the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.

Focusing on the real economy, Qingdao Area pursues development driven by both institutional innovation and technological innovation, so as to consolidate the foundation of advanced manufacturing, foster new advantages in green, low-carbon development and digital empowerment, and pool global resources. So far, the area has gathered over 150 investment projects of Fortune Global 500 enterprises at home and abroad, initially establishing an industrial chain cluster of advanced manufacturing represented by smart home appliances, genetic technology, and integrated circuits.

Next, the area will focus on manufacturing and other high-end industries and adhere to the leading role of technological innovation to further consolidate the advantages of industrial clusters, create new advantages in green, low-carbon development and digital empowerment, enhance enterprises' dominant position in innovation, and continuously release the innovation vitality and momentum for high-quality development.
