Shandong: To Foster 1,000+ "Specialized, Fined, Peculiar and New" SMEs

The General Office of People's Government of Shandong Province recently issued the Work Plan for the "2023 Breakthrough Year" of Advanced Manufacturing, which proposes fostering more than 1,000 "specialized, fined, peculiar and new" small and medium-sized enterprises and about 200 "Single Champion" manufacturing enterprises above the provincial level throughout the year.

To strengthen its industries, Shandong will advance the transformation and upgrading of six traditional advantageous industries, expand eight strategic emerging industries and make forward-looking planning for six future industries, continuously build iconic industrial chains and advanced manufacturing industry clusters with strong competitiveness, and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system backed by the real economy. 

Shandong will holistically deploy its innovation chain, industrial chain and talent chain; constantly expand its innovation platforms and innovation talent bases; actively participate in industrial foundation reconstruction and key technology and equipment research; and strive to make breakthroughs in 10 key standard technologies of the industry and implement about 100 major technical research projects within the year.
