Yantai City: Build a World-class Chemical Industrial Cluster

Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area represents the most important force that stabilizes and drives the city's economic development. Taking implementing the chain chief system for industrial chains as a focus of efforts, the area has worked hard in recent years to enhance the role of Wanhua Chemical, Shandong Taihe Technologies, Valiant Co., Ltd. and other leading enterprises, accelerate the construction of a group of new major strategic projects such as Wanhua ethylene project (Phase II) and promote the transformation and upgrading of Yantai Chemical Industrial Park. Thanks to these efforts, a chemical industry system in which high-end petrochemicals, new materials and fine chemicals play the leading role and Yantai's characteristics are highlighted has taken shape in the area. Now, the high-end chemical and new material industries in the area are aiming to build a world-class industrial cluster and a global new material industrial base.

At the fundamental level, the long-term development of the chemical industry can be attributed to work safety. In this connection, Yantai is accelerating the construction of a "1+1+N" intellectual support system around chemical safety. Specifically, the role of high-level expert think tanks will be maximized to provide strong intellectual support for chemical safety in theoretical policies, regulations and standards, key technologies, advanced equipment, intelligent control and other aspects, offer regular technical guidance and thorough inspection services for enterprises, improve the overall safety of the chemical industry effectively, and make greater contributions to the safe development of China's chemical industry.
