Duringthejust-concludedMayDayholiday,ShandongwasapopulartouristdestinationinChina.Amajordriverofthispopularityisthehigh-qualitydevelopmentofShandong'sculturaltourism.Relyingonitsrichculturaltourismresources,ShandonglaunchedtheconstructionofaculturalexperiencecorridorthatcoverstheYellowRiver,theShandongsectionoftheGrandCanal,theGreatWallofQi,theYellowSeaandtheBohaiSea,andtheQingdao-JinanRailwaythisyear.Bylinkingtogetherculturaltourismresourcesacrosstheprovince,Shandonghasworkedtocultivateanewwindowforculturaldisplayandexperienceandeffectivelypromoteregionalcoordinateddevelopmentandruralrevitalization.

Thisculturalexperiencecorridorcrisscrossestheprovincefromthewesttotheeast,coveringmorethan70millionpeopleor70%oftheprovince'stotalpopulationin16cities.Inthepast,citiesandscenicareasintheprovincewentitalone.Butnowregionalcoordinationhasbeenrealizedthroughtheconstructionofthefiveculturalaxesoftheculturalexperiencecorridor.Asaresult,relevantpoliciescanhaveawiderimpactandprovidenewdevelopmentopportunitiesforculturaltourismresourceswithinthescopeoftheaxes.

Inaddition,theseaxeshavelinkedtogethermajorscenicareas,monuments,ancientcities,townsandvillages,andothertourismresourcesintheprovince.Amongothers,the130villagesalongtheaxesthatareincludedinthescopeforkeyconstructionwillserveasapowerfuldrivingforcefortheruralrevitalizationofShandong.Astheculturalindustryplaysanincreasinglysignificantroleindrivingruraleconomicandsocialdevelopment,theconstructionoftheculturalexperiencecorridorwillcreateawin-winscenarioforcultureandindustryandopenupanewindustrialpathforruralrevitalization.
