Weihai Builds China-ROK Economic, Trade, and Cultural Exchange Service Platform

The new Weihai-Incheon Pavilion located in the Weihai Smart Valley Industrial Park in Shandong Province was officially opened recently. A total of 109 famous and excellent enterprises from Incheon of the Republic of Korea (ROK) showcased more than 500 exhibits here. More than 100 guests from the political and business circles of China and the ROK participated in the opening ceremony online and offline. With an area of nearly 600 square meters, the new pavilion is currently the largest exhibition hall among the local government offices of the ROK in China.

In addition to being a window for cultural exchange between China and the ROK, the Weihai-Incheon Pavilion is a comprehensive service platform for investment negotiation, trade promotion, and cross-border e-commerce between the two countries. Since its establishment in Weihai in November 2016, the pavilion has become the venue of more than 160 economic and trade promotion events, receiving 26,000 visitors and pulling in about 660 million yuan in trade. According to an official of the Management Committee of Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone (WETDZ), WETDZ, as the "bridgehead" of Weihai's opening up and cooperation with the outside world, has been deeply engaged in the ROK for 30 years since its establishment, and has introduced 1,049 South Korean-funded projects, for increasingly closer economic and cultural exchanges with the ROK. Upon the China-ROK Innovation and Entrepreneurship Industrial Park being set up in the Smart Valley Industrial Park, it will become a center of China-ROK exchange to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation to achieve a new breakthrough from a new starting point.
