Jinan Strives to Increase the Value of Its AI Industry to 100 Billion Yuan

On December 26, the Second Session of the 18th Jinan Municipal People's Congress was officially held. According to the report on the work of the government of Jinan, the city will strive to make a breakthrough in future industries, accelerate the construction of AI intelligent computing centers, AI islands, AI valleys, and other platforms, and increase the value of its AI industry to 100 billion yuan in 2023.

To this end, Jinan will take the initiative to jump at the development opportunities presented by the quantum information industry, bring its advantage as a key node of the quantum secure communication line, Beijing-Shanghai Trunk Line, into full play, and speed up the industrialization of quantum technologies. Jinan will also work to scale up and strengthen its AI industry, expedite the construction of AI intelligent computing centers, AI islands, AI valleys, and other platforms, and increase the value of its AI industry to 100 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, Jinan will beef up efforts to make a breakthrough in frontier industries. Specifically, Jinan will focus on metaverse, future communication, intelligent bionics, extended reality, gene editing, brain-like intelligence, and other fields, introduce and plan a batch of industrial projects with a strong driving force, accelerate technology research, development, application and promotion, and create a new engine for future development. Jinan will also establish a policy system that can support the development of future industries, strengthen patent portfolio planning, talent reserve, platform construction and scenario development, and accelerate building itself into a pilot area for future industries.
