Shandong Has 7 of the First National Strategic Emerging Industry Clusters, Ranking First in China

Recently, the 39th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Shandong Provincial People's Congress heard the report of the provincial government on the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones and the construction of major projects in the province. According to the report, since 2018, Shandong Province has insisted on replacing old growth drivers with new ones, deepened reform and innovation, and successfully completed 14 major goals and 119 key tasks determined by "making breakthroughs in five years". A total of seven industrial clusters have been selected into the first batch of strategic emerging ones in China, making the province rank first in the country in terms of the number of such industrial clusters.

Shandong Province has focused on cultivating advantageous clusters, and has fostered 143 "goose swarm array" industrial clusters such as power equipment, rail transit and smart home appliances, with a total scale of 7.2 trillion yuan. Four clusters have been approved as national innovative industrial cluster pilots and seven industrial clusters have been selected into the first batch of strategic emerging ones in China. Shandong Province has implemented the landmark industrial chain breakthrough action, selected 112 "chain leaders" enterprises, established 35 industrial chain communities, planned 460 key industrial chain projects and served more than 40,000 enterprises. At the same time, the province has worked to cultivate advantageous enterprises. There are 145 national-level manufacturing single champions and 756 specialized enterprises that produce cutting-edge products, also nicknamed "little giants", making the province rank second and third in China respectively.
