Shandong to Develop Marine High-tech Industrial Development Zones

The Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province recently issued the Guidelines for Developing Marine High-tech Industrial Development Zones in Shandong Province. The guidelines pointed out that by 2025, Shandong will build 3-5 marine high-tech industrial development zones with national influence, and significantly enhance Shandong's marine technology innovation capacity, the ability to transfer and transform scientific and technological achievements, and industrial agglomeration development level.

Shandong will adhere to technological and institutional innovation to drive the construction of marine high-tech industrial development zones, and follow the "government-guided, market-led, distinctive, integrated layout" principle. With the theme of promoting high-quality marine development, the emphasis of cultivating internationally competitive enterprises and industries, and the focus of creating a good ecology of innovation and entrepreneurship, Shandong will create a pilot zone for high-quality marine development, providing strong support for its construction as a strong marine province. Shandong will form some "1, 10, and 100" billion-level industrial clusters with international competitiveness, to significantly enhance the ability and level of technology to lead and support high-quality marine development. Shandong strives to be the first in the country to form a replicable and promotable experience and model for developing the marine high-tech industrial development zone.
